PASC Winter Travel SoccerAs we navigate these unprecedented times, our club plan continues to evolve as we learn new information and get additional guidance from government and health agencies. PASC is committed to providing a Winter Travel Soccer program that meets the developmental needs of our players AND all Commonwealth and EPYSA guidelines. EPYSA is not sanctioning indoor competition between clubs this winter, and this is a step PASC had already taken with our original winter plan. As always, we are planning our programs with player safety — and everyone's safety — as our #1 priority. Based on recent changes, we have modified our proposed winter programming.
Masked physically distanced indoor training at All Sports CenterIndoor training is scheduled to take place at
ASC (1511 W Main St, Collegeville, PA 19426) on Saturdays beginning Jan. 16, 2020 through March 6, 2021. We have reserved a 5-hour block during which we will be the only club in the facility. These training sessions will focus on footwork and skill development for all of our travel soccer players. Sessions will run for one hour.
- Masks will be worn by everyone (coaches, players, staff) at all times.
- ASC is limiting the number of people allowed in the facility. No parents or spectators will be permitted in the facility.
- Temperature checks will be administered to everyone entering the facility.
- Indoor sessions will include no-contact training with physical distancing maintained throughout.
Teams will receive strength and agility training as part of these indoor sessions. In an effort to provide this valuable training element without introducing another indoor facility to our program, we've arranged for the HEAT trainers to work with our athletes at ASC. HEAT maintains the same safety protocols as ASC, all trainers will be masked, and we will ensure these trainers use our established Health and Safety reporting processes, just as we do for our club coaches.
Masked outdoor training and intra-club competitionOutdoor field space is at a premium and PASD (and other school districts) are not currently available for third-party use. Facilities hosting PASC outdoor training include:
1)
USTC (United Sports, 1426 Marshallton Thorndale Road, Downingtown, PA 19335)
2)
Steelyard Sports (538 Swedeland Road, King of Prussia, PA)
Outdoor sessions will begin the week of January 11th, weather permitting and will include a mix of technical and tactical practice sessions with some contact (players and coaches will remain masked at all times).
We will, of course, follow all mandates set by federal and state government agencies, EPYS, and the individual facilities, so changes to this program will be communicated as necessary.
We appreciate the trust you place in PASC to provide a safe, dynamic, and developmentally sound soccer program for your young athlete. Thank you for your support. We will communicate schedule details in the coming weeks.
