PASC Volunteer Clearances

Per US Youth Soccer regulations and the state of PA, all volunteers need to have the following clearances to be able to be assigned roles to teams in any youth soccer organization. Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer (EPYS) is using a new registration platform, StackSports, so all PASC volunteers will need to create a new profile on the StackSports platform and upload the required certificates. This process needs to be completed before the start of the fall season.

There are SIX clearance documents/procedures you need to obtain/complete to be in compliance.

1) PA Child Abuse Check*
Good for five years. Go to www.compass.state.pa.us/cwis/public/home to complete the process if your certificate is expired. You will need to upload a new certificate again this season if your current certificate expires before 6/30/20.

2) PA State Police Criminal History Check*
Good for five years. Go to epatch.state.pa.us/Home.jsp to complete the process if your certificate is expired. You will need to upload a new certificate again this season if your current cert expires before 6/30/20.

3) FBI Check*
A) Affidavit. If you are an unpaid volunteer who currently lives in PA and has lived in PA for 10 continuous years, use the affidavit. It's good for five years — you will need to upload a new certificate again this season if your current cert expires before 6/30/20.

B) Fingerprint Check. If you are a paid coach/paid staff member or a volunteer who does not live in PA or who has not lived in PA for the past 10 years continuously, you need to get an FBI Background (fingerprint) check. The clearance is good for five years — you will need to upload a new certificate again this season if your current cert expires before 6/30/20.

*NOTE: When you are ready to upload documents 1, 2, and 3, they need to be saved and uploaded as one single document (PDF, jpg) to the "Safety Certificate" folder in StackSports. Genius Scan is an iOS app that's being recommended if you don't have one already (https://www.thegrizzlylabs.com/genius-scan).

4) Heads Up Concussion certification (30-minute online course)
Needs to be updated annually. You can link to the 30-minute Heads-Up online course directly from the new StackSports registration page or access the course: www.cdc.gov/headsup/youthsports/training/index.html

5) SafeSports Certification (2-hour online course)
You can link to the 2-hour SafeSports online course directly from the new StackSports registration page. Needs to be updated annually.

6) Photo
A clear headshot (no sunglasses or hats) needs to be uploaded to complete your registration.

To create your new StackSports profile:
1) Go to phoenixvillesc.epysalive.org and click "Register Now" under the "2019-2020 Intramural & Suburban Volunteers" header if you are volunteering in our Intramural or Pee wee program. Register under the "2019-20 Recreational Registration - Coach" if you are coaching in our Recreational "Suburban Co-ed Soccer League" program.

2) Follow the steps to create your account.

3) NOTE: When you get to the "Waiver" step, click the "acknowledgement" button and sign the electronic signature. NOTE: the language in the waiver says that you are confirming that you've completed and uploaded your risk management documents — even though you haven't, click the button and apply your electronic signature.

4) NOW you'll be able to upload your risk management documents.
- Concussion Training Certification (for your Heads Up Concussion certificate)
- Abuse Prevention Certificate (this is the new SafeSport program)
- Safety/Additional Certification (where you upload your THREE background checks as one document).
